AI meeting notes for Google Meet, Zoom and Teams

By the Wazomind teamUpdated 7 August 2026
The one rule that decides everything: a browser extension can only hear a browser tab. If your calls happen in a tab, the Chrome extension is enough. If you use a desktop client - as most Zoom and Teams users do - you need the Wazomind Windows app. No bot joins the call either way.

Why the platform changes the answer

Google Meet only runs in a browser, so the extension covers essentially everyone. Zoom and Teams are different: most people use their desktop applications, and no browser extension can hear audio from a separate application - not ours, and not anyone else's. Those readers need the Windows app, which captures system audio.

It would be easier to write three pages that all said "just add the extension". It would also be wrong for most Zoom and Teams users, who would install it and find it hears only their own microphone.

What is the same everywhere

No bot joins the meeting on any platform. Wazomind captures audio on your own device rather than connecting to the meeting service, so there is no participant to admit, nothing in the attendee list, and no account permission to request. That is also why it keeps working in organisations that block third-party notetakers - a restriction that applies to applications joining a call, which Wazomind never does.

Each platform also has its own built-in AI - Gemini in Meet, AI Companion in Zoom, Copilot in Teams. All three write a recap after the meeting, all three depend on your organisation's licence, and none of them tell you what to say while someone is waiting for an answer. The platform pages cover each comparison in detail.
